Switch to CC

Round 1: Knit

Round 2: Purl

Round 3-5: Knit

Repeat rounds 2-5 for a total of 5 times or until desire leg length is reached.

*I did my color changes for the leg portion on a Round 5 of each repeat.*

Knit 1 round with MC,

Then knit the first 28 (32,36) stitches PM, you will work the heel flap over the remaining 28 (32,36) stitches.

Heel Flap:

This is not a traditional heel flap; it is worked a bit differently you are repeating one row over and over as opposed to a traditional slip stitch heel flap that is worked over 2 rows.

SL one purlwise with yarn in front, then knit across, turn and repeat.

Repeat for a total of 28 (32,36) rows, this results in 14 (16,18) garter ridges

Gusset

Set up rows

SL 1 purlwise with yarn in back, knit 14 (16,18), SSK, k1 turn

SL 1 purlwise with yarn in front, P3, P2tog, P, turn

Now repeat the following rounds:

Round 1: SL1 purlwise with yarn in front, knit to one stitch before gap, SSK, K1, turn

Round 2: SL1 purlwise with yarn in back, purl to one stitch before gap, P2Tog, P1 turn

Repeat until all stitches have been worked and you have 16 (18, 20) stitches left. Cut MC if switching yarns.

Pick up and knit 1stitch to close the gap between the foot stitches and the heel flap. Pick up 14 (16,18) stitches along the side of the heel flap, knit across the flap, pick up and knit down the other 14 (16,18) side stitches and pick up one extra to close the gap on the other side and then knit across the remaining 28 (32,36) top of foot stitches. If you have never picked up stitches after a heel flap and gusset I suggest checking out youtube for some tutorials. My Fav tutorials are by the Crazy Sock Lady.

You are now at your new BOR marker.

Foot decrease:

Round 1: K1, SSK, knit to 3 stitches before marker K2tog, K, knit across foot back to BOR

Round 2: knit all stitches

Repeat rounds 1 & 2 until you have the original number of stitches on your needles 56 (64,72)

Knit all stitches until foot is 1.5” less then desired length.

*for the foot I changed colors every 10 rows*

Toe Decrease:

Round 1: knit all stitches

Round 2: K1, SSK, knit until 3 stitches before marker K2tog, K,SM, K, SSK, knit until 3 stitches before marker K2tog , K

Knit until 20 (24, 28 stitches remain) Kitchener stitch together.
